SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Judging by the results, you might think that the No. 24 Angelo State University women’s tennis team is loaded with seasoned veterans, but it’s actually a very young group that continues to make program history.
The Belles are 19-0 overall and 6-0 in the Lone Star Conference after sweeping Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State at home last weekend by identical 7-0 shutouts.
ASU’s roster is comprised of eight underclassmen — three sophomores and five freshmen.
Sophomores Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene are the only returners from last year’s team, and they’ve provided a lot of leadership for a team that continues to make program history with each win.
