No loss in 20 years – Barcelona’s dominant record against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou
Barcelona have largely maintained a positive head-to-head record against Atletico Madrid over the years, especially at home, where they have barely ever lost a game to the Madrid-based side.
As they prepare to host Atletico Madrid tomorrow in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie, the Catalans have the momentum on their side, especially after beating Diego Simeone’s men just days ago.
The Colchoneros, however, have the advantage of having better-rested players, given how Simeone did not exert any of his starting players to the limit in the league game.
However, Barça have history on their side heading into the crucial European encounter.
Barcelona have not lost to Atletico Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou since February 5 2006, when goals from Maxi Rodriguez and Fernando Torres helped the Rojiblancos to a 3-1 win.
Since then, they have never lost to Los Colchoneros at the historic venue and have racked up 18 wins and seven draws in the same conditions.

In fact, the only home defeat Barcelona have ever faced against Simeone’s side since the defeat in 2006 came at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in the 2024-25 season when they lost 2-1.
Notably, however, Barcelona’s record against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League is not great. They last met in 2016 in the European competition, and Simeone’s team advanced by a 3-2 win on aggregate.
Two years earlier, they met in the quarter-final of the competition, but it was against Atletico Madrid who advanced by a 3-2 scoreline on aggregate.
Tomorrow night, Flick’s men will look to keep their streak against Atletico Madrid alive at the Spotify Camp Nou.
After all, they will be aiming for a dominant win in the first leg to take with them into the Riyadh Air Metropolitano a week later.
