Norfolk State was swept in a doubleheader by Le Moyne on Saturday, losing 10-4 and 15-4 in seven innings at Marty L. Miller Field.
Norfolk State fell to 16-24 overall and 12-12 in Northeast Conference play, while Le Moyne improved to 14-21 and 14-10.
Game 1: Le Moyne 10, Norfolk State 4
Le Moyne used a seven-run seventh inning to rally for a 10-4 victory in the opener.
Tyler Mitchell (1-2) took the loss in relief. Parker Hampton threw six scoreless innings with five strikeouts, and Donovan Whitfield pitched the final 2 2/3 innings.
Thomas Ealey, Ryan Hoeft, Josiah Harrison and Hunter Gillespie each recorded a hit for Norfolk State. Jaydan Israel scored twice, while Ealey and Gillespie each scored once.
Norfolk State took a 2-0 lead in the third inning, scoring on a throwing error. The Spartans extended the lead to 4-0 in the fifth on a two-run single.
Le Moyne broke through in the seventh inning with consecutive RBI singles, a bases-loaded walk, a two-run double, a sacrifice fly and a run on a wild pitch to take a 7-4 lead.
The Dolphins added three runs in the ninth inning to complete the comeback.
Game 2: Le Moyne 15, Norfolk State 4
Le Moyne completed the sweep with a 15-4 win in seven innings.
Myles Crocker (0-5) took the loss after starting. Nyenati Snoh, Ryan Sellers, Walker Fuller and James Godfrey each appeared in relief.
Justin Journette and Josiah Harrison each went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kydese Queen went 2 for 3, and Cameron Mazell, Jaydan Israel, Thomas Ealey, Ryan Hoeft and Mason Mompoint each added a hit.
Le Moyne jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning on a grand slam. Norfolk State answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single and an RBI double.
The Dolphins extended the lead in the second inning with a bases-loaded walk and another grand slam to make it 9-2. Le Moyne added three runs in the third and two more in the fourth to push the advantage to 14-2.
An RBI single in the fifth made it 15-2 before Mazell drove in two runs with a single. Le Moyne held Norfolk State scoreless over the final two innings.
Norfolk State lost to Le Moyne with scores of 10-4 in Game 1 and 15-4 in Game 2.
After the doubleheader, Norfolk State's overall record is 16-24.
Le Moyne won both games of the doubleheader, improving their record to 14-21 overall and 14-10 in the Northeast Conference.
