North Greenville defeated Mount Olive 6-2 in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament, eliminating the Trojans. The Trailblazers rallied late, scoring five runs in the eighth inning to secure their advancement.
Gastonia, NC (NGU SID) â North Greenville rallied in the late innings on Saturday morning to take down sixth seeded Mount Olive 6 â 2, eliminating the Trojans and advancing in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament.

Mount Olive took a 1 â 0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run. It would be the only run allowed by Bennett Roemer for the next five innings as he held the UMO lineup in check. The only other run for the Trojans would come on a controversial inside the park homerun in the sixth inning.  The second UMO run came after the Trailblazers tied the game at 1 â 1 in the top of the sixth on a Lane McGaha solo homer to left center.Â

North Greenville trailed until a lead off single in the eighth inning from Thomas Sparked a rally for NGU. A full count bases loaded walk from Kai Tullos would pull NGU even at 3 â 3 while Landon Peavy delivered an RBI single to give NGU its first lead in almost 17 innings of tournament play. Joe Cash then delivered a ground ball single to right field which scored a pair to extend the lead to 5 â 2.Â

The Trailblazers would tack on one more run in the ninth inning on an RBI ground out to extend the lead to 6 â 2, a lead which would hold as Thomas Skipper would toss two scoreless innings in relief as NGU advanced. In total, NGU held UMO to just seven hits while striking out 12. Connor Brenson earned the win after striking out back â to â back hitters to escape a bases loaded jam in the sixth.

Bennett Roemer earned the no â decision on the mound but pitched 5.1 innings allowing just two runs on five hits. He struck out seven batters. McGaha finished 2 â 4 with one Rbi and a pair of runs scored.  was 2 â 4 with a run scored.  also had two hits and a run scored.
Key moments included a solo home run by Lane McGaha to tie the game and a bases-loaded walk by Kai Tullos that helped North Greenville take the lead in the eighth inning.
North Greenville advanced in the Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament after defeating Mount Olive, marking a crucial win to stay alive in the competition.
Standout players included Bennett Roemer, who pitched effectively, and Landon Peavy, who contributed with an RBI single during the decisive eighth inning.
The final score was North Greenville 6, Mount Olive 2, allowing North Greenville to eliminate Mount Olive from the tournament.

The Trailblazers continue their march toward a Conference Championship on Saturday night with an 11 â 3 win over Francis Marion in the second elimination game of the day for both teams.Â

North Greenville wasted no time jumping ahead in Saturdayâs night cap, scoring a pair of runs in the first inning on a Josh Foulks homer. The lead was extended to three runs in the second frame when Kai Tullos scored on a sacrifice fly from Darrien Whitaker. A run in each of the third and fourth innings from the Patriots made it interesting but the Trailblazers had a response.Â

That response was six runs in the home half of the fourth inning, extending the NGU lead to 9 â 2. The big knock of the inning came from CJ Dean who hit his first grand slam of the season over the left field wall, NGUâs second homer of the day. Josh Foulks would triple in his next at bat and score in the frame to add more damage.Â

The biggest performance of the day came from NGU starter Oliver Adams who held the Patriots in check until he was pulled after eight full innings. Adams allowed two runs on just five hits and struck out three batters.

Offensively, Josh Foulks was 3 â 5 with two runs and two RBI with a triple. Thomas Powell also had three hits. CJ Dean finished 2 â 6 with two runs and four RBI. Darrien Whitaker finished 2 â 3 with a run and two RBI.Â

North Greenville will face Belmont Abbey Sunday at 1PM in another elimination game. Winner will advance to Championship series.
