Notre Dame football continues its momentum on the recruiting trail adding another blue chip prospect.
Five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola announced on Tuesday that he is committing to the Fighting Irish, giving the program a headlining piece in what might end up being another top-5 class in the country in back-to-back years.
The 6-foot, 6-inch and 295-pound Olubobola is from Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peters Prep, and he chose Notre Dame over offers from Miami and Texas A&M. According to the 247Sports Composite, Olubobola is the No. 15 ranked overall prospect in his class and the No. 3 ranked offensive tackle. His decision comes on the heels of a visit during the Blue-Gold game in late April.
On film, Olubobola has the frame that still has room to add some weight. He recently participated in the Under Armour All-American game as an underclassmen.
Olubobola's football story also underscores how much potential he still has left. He is the son of Nigerian parents, and dabbled briefly in basketball before turning into football. The switch was a good one as he almost immediately became a top-60 national prospect.
Landing Olubobola continues what has been a recruiting surge over the past month for head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff. The Irish have stacked blue-chip classes in both 2026 and 2027, both headlined with premier five-star talents. If Notre Dame can prove itself on the field this season and live up to it's sky-high expectations, it is reasonable to think they will have the upcoming recruiting classes to keep the wins coming.
