Notre Dame football has offered a scholarship to Andre Jones, the son of former running back Julius Jones. Andre, a 2028 defensive back from St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida, has received 20 offers and is emerging as a national prospect.
The gift that keeps on giving for Notre Dame football is its alumni having children that are good enough to play for the Irish.
Over the last few recruiting cycles, we have seen many former players son’s being recruited and eventually signing with their father’s collegiate team and on Saturday, another one was offered. Andre Jones, son of former Notre Dame running back Julius Jones received his scholarship over the weekend.
While the two play different positions, Andre being a defensive back, it’s still in-line with what the Irish are trying to accomplish, finding talent inside football families. The 2028 safety players for Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas, and at 6-foot and 170-pounds, fits what Notre Dame is looking for at the position.
He’s not currently ranked, not many 2028 players are, but with 20-offers in-hand, the younger Jones is looking like he’s going to be a national prospect. Obviously the Irish have an edge here, as he can talk to his father about his experience in South Bend as a player. You have to believe that Notre Dame is in a great position to land another alumni’s son.
