Tennessee has made another big splash in the transfer portal, landing former McDonald’s All-American Jalen Haralson.
Haralson is a 6-7, 200 pound big, powerful wing. The former 4-star prospect is coming off of his freshman season for Notre Dame, where he averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Haralson was ranked 18th overall in the class of 2025 by 247Sports.
Haralson shot over 51 percent from the floor and 67.4 percent from the floor. Not known as a shooter, Haralson shot 20 percent from three point range, only hitting five of his 25 attempts on the season. He fits Tennessee as an athletic forward that’s going to make his money bullying defenders to the rim and finishing.
He ranks as the 25th overall player in the portal, per 247Sports.
Tennessee has now added two guards — Belmont’s Tyler Lundblade and Cal’s Dai Dai Ames. They’ve also added a rim protecting forward in Loyola-Chicago’s Miles Rubin to go along with the slashing wing in Haralson. The Volunteers promised to spend big in the transfer portal, and so far they’ve delivered on that promise.
Needs remain in the frontcourt and at point guard. The next move might come from the prep ranks with Chris Washington Jr. set to announce on Thursday. Juke Harris and Terrence Hill Jr. have also been heavily rumored to join the Volunteers.
Jalen Haralson averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game during his freshman season at Notre Dame.
Haralson shot over 51 percent from the floor but struggled with three-point shooting, hitting only 20 percent of his attempts.
Haralson is expected to enhance Tennessee's athleticism and scoring ability, particularly with his strength in driving to the rim.
