Notre Dame is set to host one of its top defensive line targets this week.
Five-star 2027 edge Abraham Sesay said he is on his way to South Bend, after not being able to make it this past weekend. The visit is the latest piece of promising news for Notre Dame, as they were already pegged by Rivals earlier this year to land the coveted prospect. According to 247Sports Composite, Abraham is ranked No. 50 overall in the 2027 class.
The Irish will have another chance to impress Abraham in person, which could have a big impact on a recruitment that might be entering it's final stages. Sesay has already mentioned how impressed he was by Notre Dame's combination of academics, tradition, and football development, and it appears those factors are what have kept Notre Dame atop his list.
On the field, Sesay brings the kinds of traits that make elite edge defenders so valuable. His 6-foot-5 stature gives him the length, frame, and athleticism that college coaches covet. He's shown to have a high motor and a quick first step which could aid him in the ability to threaten tackles with his speed.
Sesay still has some parts of his game he needs to work on. He is still adding to his pass-rush arsenal, but he's shown enough to make his ceiling obvious. He has the size and tools to be a disruptive force.
Notre Dame's ability to land Sesay would go a long way in regards to how the 2027 class will shape up to ultimately look like. If they can take advantage of the visit, they can possibly position themselves on the brink of landing a commitment from one of the best players in the 2027 class.
