A follow-up report brings even more positive news for New York Knicks fans when it comes to OG Anunoby’s hamstring injury.

On Wednesday night, the Knicks scored a hard-fought victory over the Philadelphia 76ers and extended their semifinals series lead to 2-0. In the win, New York got another great game from the man who has quietly been their MVP in these playoffs, OG Anunoby.

The nine-year veteran posted 24 points, five rebounds, four steals, and was a +12 when he was on the court. In the 2026 playoffs, Anunoby leads the team in steals (1.5), is second in points (21.4) and blocks (1.1), and is third in rebounds (7.5). However, fans got a big scare in the final minutes of Game 3 when he came up lame, went to the locker room, and never returned.

It took a long time for Knicks fans to get an update on his situation. However, on Thursday afternoon, ESPN’s Shams Charania revealed he has a right hamstring strain and is listed as day-to-day. That is a big relief for New York fans, but hamstring injuries are tricky, and Anunoby has dealt with them in the past. It still could take a week or more before he returns to action.
