The crowd at the Allianz Arena were quieted early when Stuttgartâs Chris FĂŒhrich initially put the Bavarians behind with a 21st-minute 0-1 opener. The mighty German giants nevertheless quickly responded by scoring three goals in the space of six minutes before the first half was out.

Vincent Kompanyâs FCB arithmetically clinched the title on matchday 30, but the 2025/26 Bundesliga title race was declared effectively over after Bayern defeated their nearest challengers Borussia Dortmund on matchday 24 at the end of February. For many Bundesliga journalists, Bayernâs record breaking undefeated streak at the beginning of the season made it fully clear that this yearâs Bayern couldnât possibly be dethroned this year.
Bayern won their first 16 competitive fixtures this year before drawing Union Berlin on matchday 10 in November. A 18-match unbeaten run would come to an end when Arsenal defeated Bayern later that month. Bayern would not lose in the Bundesliga until their Bavarian neighbors Augsburg upset them at home on matchday 19 in late January.
To date, this is the only loss Bayern have incurred in the Bundesliga this year. Just last week, this historic incarnation of Bayern broke the all-time record for goals scored in a single season. With four matchdays remaining, it stands to reason that Kompanyâs team will pad this record quite a bit. It may take several more decades for it to be broken.
Still alive in both the DFB Pokal and UEFA Champions League, thereâs plenty more history for Kompanyâs FCB to chase. Kompanyâs team already secured the Franz Beckenbauer DFL Supercup, beating last yearâs Bundesliga runners up Stuttgart away on the leagueâs on the âsoft opening weekendâ before the Bundesliga campaign officially started.
Bayernâs dominance in the league is somewhat underscored by the fact that they havenât won the domestic cup since Hansi Flickâs side defeated Leverkusen at the end of the 2019/20 season. Flickâs team also secured the UCL crown later that same year; the last time that Bayern took European Club Footballâs ultimate prize.
