Ohio State football may be making a late push for another 2027 quarterback.
Allen Trieu, of On3, reported (subscription required) that the Buckeyes are working on quarterback Trae Taylor, who is currently committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Taylor is a four-star quarterback from Carmel Catholic in Mundelein, Illinois. He has been committed to Nebraska since May of last year.
Taylor is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds by On3. He threw for 3,571 yards, 38 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions last season. He is currently listed as the No. 4 quarterback in the 247 Sports Composite rankings and the No. 60 player overall in his class.
A move to Ohio State would be a huge event because it has seemed that Taylor has been quite locked in with Nebraska since his commitment. He has spoken highly of Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule, the staff, and the atmosphere in Lincoln. He's even transferring to Millard South in Nebraska for his senior season, which seemingly further tightens the grip Nebraska might have on this recruitment. He has been heavily involved in trying to recruit other blue-chip talent to Nebraska since his commitment as well.
However, Ohio State is one of the premier programs in the country, and when it establishes interest in a prospect, it will always be notable. Especially with the recent quality that has been produced by Ohio State quarterbacks. Even so, it does seem like the Cornhuskers have a pretty tight grip on this particular recruitment.

Ohio State's late interest in Trae Taylor comes despite his strong commitment to Nebraska, where he has been actively recruiting other players.
Trae Taylor is currently ranked as the No. 4 quarterback and the No. 60 player overall in the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
