We've got yet another Ohio State football player coming off the board in the 2026 NFL draft, the eighth Buckeye to be selected in the first three rounds in Pittsburgh. The latest is the second tight end wearing Scarlet and Gray after Max Klare was taken in the second round, Will Kacmarek. He was selected with the No. 87 pick in the third round by the Miami Dolphins.
Kacmarek didn't have a ton of catches during his career at Ohio State, and in fact, he only had 15 catches for 168 yards and two touchdowns. But that's not where his value is. Many mock drafts and analysts have the 6-foot, 6-inch, 258-pounder as the best blocking tight end in the draft, and if you want to run the ball and keep your quarterback clean, he's your man.
He's not a one-trick pony by any means. It just so happened that OSU also had Max Klare at tight end and a bevvy of talented wide receivers, so when he was in the game, it was more in run packages. When the ball was thrown his way, however, he was able to make plays.
The Dolphins will like what they are getting out of Kacmarek.
