Oklahoma Sooners unanimous No. 1 entering the 2026 postseason
The Oklahoma Sooners enter the postseason as the No. 1 team in the country in the four major polls released by Softball America, D1Softball, USA Softball, and the NFCA Coaches Poll.
In each poll, the Sooners are trailed by Nebraska, which rose to No. 2 in the nation. Between the four polls, Alabama and Texas are the No. 3 and 4 teams, but the No. 5 team is a mix of Arkansas and Tennessee. In the NFCA Coaches Poll, six SEC teams make up the top 10 and 10 inside the top 25.
As the No. 1 seed in the SEC tournament, the Sooners have a chance to earn the No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament with a strong showing. They won't play till Thursday evening when they take on the winner of LSU vs. Georgia in the eight-nine game.
It may not have been as dominant a season as we've seen in recent years, but the Oklahoma Sooners won all eight SEC series and finished atop the conference standings for the second season in a row.
Here's a look at the NFCA Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
| Rank | Team | Record | Previous |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
