Liv McGill, a former standout at Florida, has transferred to Oklahoma State women's basketball, bringing two years of eligibility. She made history at Florida by scoring 38 points and dishing out 10 assists in a single game and was named to the All-SEC first team.
Former Florida women's basketball star transfer guard Liv McGill committed to Oklahoma State on Tuesday morning.
McGill, a 5-foot-9 point guard from Minneapolis, became the first Gator, male or female, to score at least 38 points and hand out at least 10 assists in the same game, doing so against Chattanooga her sophomore year. She moves to Stillwater with two years of eligibility remaining.
The guard ranked second in the 2026 SEC Tournament in scoring at 22.5 points per game and first in minutes played at 37.1 per game. McGill set the program record for single-season points (697) and scoring average (22.5).
As a sophomore at Florida, she started all 31 games, while averaging 6.3 assists, 6.1 rebounds and 2.6 steals across 37.2 minutes per game. McGill was ultimately named to the All-SEC first team and earned a spot on the 2026 USBWA and Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention Team. She was previously a five-star recruit and a 2024 McDonald’s All-American.
McGill announced her exit from Florida after the program fired head coach Kelly Rae Finley, who recruited her to Gainesville, and replaced her with Tammi Reiss.
She will join Jacie Hoyt and an Oklahoma State team trying to reach its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in the 2026-27 season.
Since the transfer portal opened, OSU has added Ellie Brueggemann (guard, Lindenwood), LA Sneed (guard, Utah) and Talexa Weeter (guard, Fort Hays State). Nine players announced their exit from the team, leaving guard Stailee Heard as the only remaining player from last season's roster.
