The British Olympian averaged 6:16 per mile and finished in 65th place
This was her third marathon, and last planned race, while pregnant
British Olympian Calli Hauger-Thackery isn't letting pregnancy stop her from doing what she does best.
Hauger-Thackery, 33, is currently 22 weeks pregnant with her first child and competed in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 20. She is expecting a baby boy with her husband, Nick Hauger, this August.
The race is the Olympian marathoner's third marathon since getting pregnant. She first competed in the Honolulu Marathon in December 2025, unaware she was pregnant. The next month, she knew she was in her first trimester and ran the Houston Marathon, which she won in a time of 2:24:17.
Third time's the charm for her, she explained to Runner's World, and the April 20 race will be her “last proper race” for a while. “The body will need recovery more than normal at the minute."
She explained that training for marathons, even while pregnant, was a necessity. “It would almost be weird for me to just stop training and not have any goals,” she said. “Because I race a lot, it's just what I know. It's what fires me up. It's what gets me through the training blocks."
"So just to have something during this pregnancy — otherwise it's a long nine months. And it's not just nine months, is it? It's a long time to not have any goals," she said.
As for the race itself, she said the "second half was flawless,” while the first half "was absolutely chaos," with her right glute causing her some tension. Despite that, she was able to get medical aid and averaged 6:16 per mile, with a time of 2:43:58, ultimately earning 65th place.

Hauger-Thackery celebrated the occasion with an Instagram post highlighting how "grateful" she feels to be running, even if it "looks a little different."
