Weâve reached that time of year when a player first announces that âweâve got X finals left to go this season.â
In this case it was fan favourite and one of our few consistent performers this season, Trevoh Chalobah. Speaking to the clubâs official website in the days after the Blues snapped a long run of defeats, the defender tried to rally his troops when looking forward to the conclusion of the campaign.
Trevoh Chalobah on Chelseaâs âfive finalsâ
Before the proverbial âfinalsâ in the run of league games to end the season, there an actual final â the FA Cup final against Man City.
âItâs another final for us. Last year we were in finals [UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup] and the year before too [with the Carabao Cup]. So, we have that mentality, and itâs good that we showed that. We all knew what the goal was: to win no matter what,â Chalobah said.
âFor us, itâs just focusing on what we have. There are another five finals ahead: four in the Premier League and then, obviously, here [at Wembley] in the FA Cup. We have to go into them with the quality and hunger that we know we can show.â
