Oregon Ducks have secured a commitment from transfer guard Tyrone Riley IV, who averaged 12.2 points and 4.8 rebounds last season with the San Francisco Dons. The four-star recruit is expected to enhance the Ducks' wing performance with his athleticism and shooting skills.
With nine players heading out the door via the transfer portal, the Oregon Ducks have finally made their first addition themselves in the portal. Per On3's Joe Tipton, San Francisco Dons guard Tyrone Riley IV has committed to Oregon.
Riley averaged 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game last season for the Dons on 47.2% shooting from the floor and 36.8% from three-point range. He was a second-team All-WCC selection, showcasing himself as one of the top two-way players in the conference as a sophomore. The Watts, CA, native was rated as a four-star in the transfer portal, the No. 8 small forward and No. 71 player overall, per 247 Sports Composite.
Standing 6-foot-6 and 200 pounds, Riley will bring athleticism, size and solid shooting ability on the wing for the Ducks, with the latter being a major source of weakness on a roster that won just 12 games and finished 16th in the Big Ten.
Riley visited Eugene this weekend and had a visit scheduled for Louisville soon after, but apparently was sold on the Ducks so much so that he committed before checking out any other program. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The former San Francisco standout now joins returnee forward Sean Stewart as the only scholarship players currently on the roster. There are several other players on Oregon's radar, but the addition of Riley is a tremendous start to building what head coach Dana Altman hopes is a competitive roster in the Big Ten come next season.
