After a couple of slow weeks, the Oregon Ducks have hit their stride on the recruiting trail. Dan Lanning and his staff have secured commitments from three quality defenders this month, and a fourth could be on the way soon.

Consensus four-star linebacker Brayton Feister landed a prediction to the Ducks on Friday from Rivals' recruiting insider Greg Smith. The Akron native will take an official visit to Oregon in June.

The Ducks have set the pace in Feister's recruitment, even as new teams are getting in the mix. Nebraska and Georgia offered Feister last month, but it appears this recruitment will come down to Oregon and Cal, led by former Ducks defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi.

Feister is rated as the No. 132 player in the 2027 class.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound star for Archbishop Hoban in Ohio doubles as a running back for the Knights, but the Ducks have always wanted him as a linebacker. As a junior, Feister made 133 tackles with 39 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. As a running back, Feister had 1,098 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.

He has built a close relationship with Lanning and the Ducks in his three unofficial visits to Eugene. Lanning's message to Feister speaks not only to how much the Ducks need to land a big-time linebacker recruit, but also what the Oregon coach might have planned for him should he land in Eugene.

“We are very close," Feister told Rivals. "His message is also to just come be a part of something great and be his first first-round linebacker drafted.”

As of now, Feister has two official visits lined up. He'll go to Cal on June 4 and then come back to Oregon on June 19. As he stacks offers, he could add to that list. However, by giving Oregon the last word, the Ducks are in a good spot to land Feister. He plans to commit this summer, not long after he wraps up his official visits.
