The Baltimore Orioles came out of the 2025 MLB season looking to rebound and return to the postseason, and they underwent some major changes this offseason in hopes of turning into a true World Series contender.
But, they're 20-24 on the season and dealing with a litany of injuries to key players. But, beyond that, their trade deadline needs are a sign of how bad things went this offseason.
Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report highlighted one position the Orioles need at this year's trade deadline, and it's not one that fans should be happy about.
"The starting rotation, however, has been a trainwreck, with 10 arms combining for a 5.04 ERA and just 10 quality starts," Miller writes. "... but Baltimore would be aggressively pursuing ace potential on the trade block."
After an offseason that tried to address the starting rotation with a blockbuster trade and expensive signing, the starting rotation being their top need is a sign of the Orioles' failure this past offseason.
This past offseason, the Orioles spent a ton to acquire from the in a trade. That's gone horribly, with Baz posting a 5.48 ERA with a 1-4 record and no quality starts this season.
