Putnam City North assistant coach Josh Davis has been named the programās next head boys basketball coach.
āIām incredibly thankful for the opportunity to lead this program, be a part of this school and fully embrace the culture that makes this place so special,ā Davis said in a post to Facebook.
Haydon stepped down Feb. 27 after 19 seasons across two tenures at El Reno, where he built one of the programās most successful eras. He amassed more than 400 career wins with the Indians and will now transition into a full-time role as the schoolās athletic director.

Former Oklahoma State wrestler Kaden Gfeller has been named Choctaw's boys wrestling coach, the school announced Monday.
Gfeller will take over a program that has been led by Benny Coleman since 1987.
Coleman announced his retirement last week after leading the Yellowjackets to six state tournament titles and five dual state championships.
"Coach Gfeller brings a championship mindset, relentless work ethic, and a deep passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the mat," the Choctaw athletic department said in a social media post. "His commitment to excellence, discipline, and character makes him a perfect fit for our program and our community."
Gfeller was a four-time state champion at Heritage Hall and finished his high school career with an undefeated record of 133-0.
He wrestled at OSU from 2017-23 and won two Big 12 titles at 149 pounds. Gfeller had an 81-22 record with the Cowboys and went 36-9 in duals.
Choctaw last won state tournament and dual state titles in 2018. The Class 6A Yellowjackets haven't had an individual state champion since 2020 when Gabe Johnson won at 152 pounds and Marquonn Journey claimed the heavyweight title.
