The annual spring game for the Oklahoma Sooners will return on Saturday, as Team 132 will be on the field in front of fans for the very first time. Though the program already announced a noon kick time in Norman this weekend, other details about the game were announced on Thursday.
OU is taking out the confusion that some spring games implement when it comes to the scoring system. According to a press release from SoonerSports.com, "The noon contest will be structured as a traditional four-quarter, 60-minute game, with standard timing in the first quarter and a running clock the final three periods. The game will also feature traditional scoring."
Additionally, the spring game "will not be televised or livestreamed", meaning fans who aren't able to come to Owen Field in person will not be able to watch the game. This is a major change from spring games past, which were typically televised, even if behind a paywall. The game will be broadcast on the Sooner Sports Radio Network.
After making the College Football Playoff last season, the Sooners have more on their minds this season. Saturday will be the conclusion of spring ball, with a break before summer workouts, SEC Media Days, and fall camp over the next few months. Oklahoma's 2026 season will begin at home on September 5th against UTEP.
