The Man Utd goalkeeper was named the clubâs Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and Playersâ Player of the Year.
Luckily for Man Utd, they finally found a solution for their goalkeeping woes in the shape of Senne Lammens, who has been enjoying a superb first campaign at Carrington.
However, every top club needs a solid second-choice cutodian, something that MUFC lack at the moment.
Altay Bayindir is Lammensâ understudy, but he didnât cover himself in glory when Ruben Amorim had given him the nod at the start of the season. The Turkish international is expected to leave the club in the summer, with Besiktas reportedly keen to bring him back to Istanbul.
On the other hand, Andre Onana has been enjoying a largely positive campaign at Trabzonspor, who might try to secure his services on a permanent basis. Whether the Cameroonian ends up staying at the Turkish club remains unclear, but in either case, Man Utd fans want nothing to do with the 30-year-old, whose howlers cost them dearly between 2023 and 2025.
Therefore, Vitek could be a timely addition for the first team, especially with Michael Carrick (who remains the favourite for the permanent role) planning to bolster the squad with academy products.
The Czech can be a solid back-up for Lammens in a long campaign that should feature Champions League football and hopefully long runs in the domestic cups.
The young goalkeeper might aspire for a more prominent role at a new club, but Jason Wilcox and Co. would do well to convince him to remain at Carrington for at least one year and fight for playing time.
