INDIANAPOLIS -- Spencer Anderson, the vice president of basketball analytics and strategy for Pacers Sports and Entertainment, has been named one of the Indianapolis Business Journal's 40 under 40 for 2026.
Anderson, who graduated from Iowa with degrees in business and law, initially joined the Pacers as a basketball operations intern in the summer of 2011 and returned in 2013 as a manager of basketball administration. According to the IBJ article, Anderson is "responsible for using data, technology and strategic planning to create a competitive advantage" for the Pacers and his understanding of basketball analytics, business and law has helped him hire and mentor much of the teams analytics department. According to the story, thanks in part to Anderson's work, the Pacers rank No. 1 in the NBA in cost per win since 2013-14.
