Packers 2026 rookie minicamp roster revealed

UDFA Signings (10)

This group of players are rookies who were not selected in the NFL Draft but who have signed free agent contracts with the Packers. Generally, UDFA deals are three-year contracts for the league minimum, though some may have a small signing bonus or a portion of the first-year base salary guaranteed. Here are the confirmed signings:

• #87 J. Michael Sturdivant, WR, Florida This is also the first time we have seen the jersey numbers assigned to these players. The most notable one is Sturdivant, who gets the number 87 that previously belonged to Romeo Dubs before his departure in free agency. Also notable is the absence of one name on this list. The Packers were reportedly planning to sign tight end Eni Falayi from Wake Forest to a UDFA deal, but he is not on the minicamp roster. It is possible he may have failed a physical exam or else the reporting was inaccurate.

Returning Veterans (13)

Players who are on a 90-man roster but who do not have an accrued season of NFL experience are also allowed to participate in rookie minicamp. The Packers have 13 such players on the roster this year, listed out as follows:

Tryout Players (9)

The final group of players participating in rookie minicamp this weekend are non-roster invitees who are participating on a tryout basis. They are not under contract, but they are generally invited to fill out the camp roster at positions where the team does not have enough players to hold a typical practice, as well as players that the team wants to consider for a potential 90-man roster spot.

• #89 Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame There are a few interesting names here. Claypool is the most notable one, as a four-year NFL veteran whom the Packers have been interested in to varying degrees since he was drafted in 2020. Claypool had back-to-back 800-yard seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first two seasons before a trade to Chicago, but he has not played in the NFL since 2023. Also fun is Isaiah Jacobs, the younger brother of Packers running back Josh Jacobs. He’s a fun story and a bigger back at 5-11 and 228 pounds, but the 4.94-second 40 that he ran is a tough number for a player at that position. Bouman is a tall, relatively immobile QB prospect who put up at least 2500 passing yards in each of the past three years and is the son of former NFL quarterback Todd Bouman. Afari, who started his college career as a safety, is now a small linebacker at 6-2 and 224 pounds, but he was a multi-year starter for the Wildcats and had double-digit TFLs as a junior. Jackson’s best quality is his size (6-7, 316) but his movement skills are lacking. Finally, Walter is a local-ish player out of La Crosse and was one of the best offensive tackles in Division III last season. While he’ll need to add bulk, he tested well at Pro Day and comfortably hit the Packers’ ideal agility times for offensive linemen.
