The Green Bay Packers claimed tight end Luke Lachey and cornerback MJ Devonshire off waivers. Lachey, a seventh-round pick from the Houston Texans, is the son of former NFL tackle Jim Lachey.

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers claimed a pair of players off waivers, including a tight end whose father was a three-time All-Pro left tackle for San Diego and Washington in the 1980s and ‘90s.
Luke Lachey, a seventh-round pick of the Houston Texans and the son of veteran tackle Jim Lachey, was claimed off waivers from the Texans on May 12, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.
Released after his rookie season training camp, the 6-foot-6, 247-pound Lachey spent last season on the Texans’ practice squad. He was signed to a futures contract in January.

On May 11, weeks after drafting Michigan tight end Marlin Klein in the second round, the Texans released Lachey.
Lachey became a starter at Iowa in 2022 and after missing most of the ’23 season with an ankle injury, started all 11 games as a redshirt senior, catching 28 passes for 281 yards. In 42 games over his four seasons, he caught 74 passes for 893 yards and four touchdowns.
The Packers also added a cornerback to their roster, claiming MJ Devonshire off waivers from the Buffalo Bills, according to the transaction wire. Devonshire was released May 11.
