Experts give the Jets solid 2026 NFL Draft grades
Experts Praise Jets' Performance in 2026 NFL Draft with Solid Grades
The Green Bay Packers finished the 2026 draft with one of the NFL's most athletic classes, ranking fifth in athleticism with an average score of 79.7. Key players include Dani Dennis-Sutton and Jager Burton, who had top athleticism grades at their positions.
By both Next Gen Stats and Relative Athletic Score, the Green Bay Packers exited the 2026 draft with one of the NFL's most athletic classes of players.
Next Gen Stats, which uses testing from the NFL Scouting Combine, rated the Packers' six-player draft class as the fifth-most athletic in the 2026 draft -- tying the New Orleans Saints with an average 79.7 score. The Packers took two of the most athletic players at their respective positions in edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton (91 athleticism grade) and center Jager Burton (96 athleticism grade). Burton's grade led all offensive linemen in the class. The one knock was defensive tackle Chris McClellan, a 313-pounder who earned a 57 athleticism grade but is likely to play nose tackle snaps in Green Bay.
Relative Athletic Score, or RAS, had the Packers with the 11th highest average RAS draft class at 8.82. But there's a caveat here -- McClellan brought down the class with a 6.00 score. However, RAS included agility testing, which wasn't included as official numbers in Dane Brugler's draft guide. We haven't been able to confirm McClellan did agility testing at his pro day. Without the agilities, McClellan's score rises to 8.04 -- and the Packers' average RAS jumps to 9.23. That average would have ranked fifth among all NFL teams. The athletic stars of the class were again Dennis-Sutton (9.96) and Burton (9.88). Both Cisse and Jackson were above 90th percentile athletes at cornerback, too.
Both NGS and RAS did not include athletic scores for kicker Trey Smack, the team's sixth and final pick.
As even the most casual observers of the Packers will know, this is nothing new for Brian Gutekunst. The team's thresholds for size and athleticism are strict, especially for early picks and offensive linemen. It comes as no surprise that the Packers -- who needed cornerbacks and line-of-scrimmage players -- picked another highly athletic class of players.
The Packers had an average athleticism score of 79.7, ranking them fifth among NFL teams.
Dani Dennis-Sutton and Jager Burton were the most athletic players drafted, with grades of 91 and 96, respectively.
Chris McClellan's lower score of 57 initially brought down the class ranking, but without agility testing, his score could rise to 8.04, improving the team's average RAS.
