Big Ten announces record $1.37 billion distribution for 2025 fiscal year
The Green Bay Packers are considered the best fit for former Eagles edge rusher who recorded 16 sacks last season. This player, a two-time Pro Bowler, is seen as a top free agent option to enhance the Packers' pass-rushing capabilities.

Although the Green Bay Packers’ pass-rushing attack is in good hands with former Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons leading the way, they could make a move to help take it to an elevated level.
Signing a former Philadelphia Eagles standout defender who finished with 16 sacks in 2022-23 should be regarded as a high-level free agent option for the Packers, according to NFL.com’s Matt Okada.
“Reddick was a Pro Bowler in 2023,” Okada wrote Wednesday. “Then, he departed Philadelphia in a trade and held out through the start of the following season in New York -- and he lost a lot of his luster.”
“Since the start of the 2024 campaign, he's totaled just 3.5 sacks and 62 QB pressures, a sharp drop from the double-digit sacks and 50-plus pressures he logged in four straight seasons prior.”
The former Eagles player is Haason Reddick, who had a standout season with 16 sacks.
The Packers' pass-rushing attack is currently led by Micah Parsons, but they are looking to enhance it further.
Reddick was traded from the Eagles and held out at the start of the following season, which diminished his reputation in the league.

“A potential solution is to put him opposite Micah Parsons in a Green Bay defense coordinated by DC Jonathan Gannon. With Gannon on the sticks and Parsons drawing all the attention on the other edge, Reddick could be unlocked for a renaissance season, and the Packers could field one of the scarier pass rushes in the league.”
While New York Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux would also be a realistic option for the Packers, New York is unlikely to trade him this offseason, making it wise for Green Bay to turn its attention to Reddick.
Reddick was among the best pass rushers in the league during the 2022-23 season, as he recorded 49 tackles, 16 sacks, and five forced fumbles on a Philadelphia squad that competed in the Super Bowl. Reddick followed up that successful campaign with an impressive 38-tackle, 11-sack, and one forced fumble 2023-24 season.
The former first-round pick has looked like a shell of his former self with the New York Jets and Tampa Buccaneers, but his track record alone could motivate the Packers to offer him a short-term contract ahead of the new season.
