LA struck back quickly in the top of the second, though, as a wild pitch from starter Lance McCullers Jr. allowed Kyle Tucker to cross home and level the score. That wouldnât be the last of McCullersâ struggles, as he allowed two more runs to score via wild pitch in the following inning to make the score 3-1.
Andy Pages had a monster game for the Dodgers, and hit the first of his three home runs in the top of the third as wellâa three-run shot which banged off of the billboards above the Crawford Boxes.
Freddie Freeman joined in on the fun in the top of the fourth inning, scoring Shohei Ohtani with a one-run double.
Pages hit his second home run in the following inning, this time a two-run blast, to extend the Dodgersâ lead to eight and put the game well out of reach. Ohtani also tallied an RBI later than inning with an RBI single.
Ohtani entered todayâs game riding an 0-for-17 skid, but turned things around after a first-inning strikeout. He went 2-for-4 with a single, a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
The Dodgers tagged the Astros for one more run in the top of the seventh through an Alex Freeland single to make the score 11-1 after a Hyeseong Kim triple, though gave the run right back in the bottom of the inning.
Pages hit yet another home run in the ninth inning, a solo shot to lead off the inning, to cap off his first ever three-homer performance in MLB.
LAâs bullpen held things down after Glasnowâs early exit, with Jack Dreyer, Edgardo Henriquez, Kyle Hurt, Tanner Scott and Blake Treinen the seven innings afterwards. Brock Stewart came in for the ninth inning, making his first appearance since returning from injury, and posted a perfect bottom of the ninth to close the game.
This win will hopefully serve as a confidence boost for the Dodgers, who failed to generate much offense in the two series leading up to their matchup against the Astros. They scored 20 runs across the last three games, though, and will aim to maintain their solid hitting form in their next series.
The Dodgers will face off against the Altanta Bravesâwho have the best record in MLBâat home in their next series, which begins Friday. Emmet Sheehan gets the ball for the first game, and will face off against Cy Young contender Chris Sale to open the series. That game begins Friday at 7:10 p.m. PT.
