The Dallas Wings and Atlanta Dream will meet on Tuesday night for the first time this season. It will be Wings star Paige Bueckersâ first time facing Reese since the forward was traded to the Dream after starting her career with the Chicago Sky.
The name on the front of the jersey may be different, but Bueckers is well aware of everything that Reese brings to the table.
âOn both ends of the floor, she [Reese] is just a paint presence on both sides,â Bueckers told reporters ahead of the matchup. âDefensively, she can switch and guard one through five.
âOffensively, sheâs a great screener, great roller, great passer and, can finish around the rim, and provides a different spark for them.
âHer energy is contagious. She brings confidence to her teammates. So really effects both sides of the ball and she definitely helps her team a lot.â
For Bueckersâ part, she should be more well-equipped than ever for Reeseâs physicality, after the 2025 number one overall pick reportedly added 15 pounds of muscle over the offseason. Buckers already beat one of the standouts of the 2024 draft class in the Wingsâ win over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday. Tuesday night, sheâll look to take down Reese and make it 2-for-2.
Paige Bueckers described Angel Reese as a significant paint presence who can defend multiple positions on the court.
