Nebraska softball defeated Minnesota 17-2, clinching the series with a season-high run total. Hannah Coor and Jesse Farrell each hit grand slams, marking a notable performance for the Huskers.
Nebraska softball (35-6, 16-1) faced Minnesota (14-29, 6-11) for the second game of the series on Saturday afternoon. The Huskers clinched the series in dominating fashion, scoring a season-high 17 runs to topple the Golden Gophers 17-2.
Nebraska's domination grew throughout the back half of the game, starting in the third when the Huskers got on the board with two runs. Nebraska then added five more runs in the fourth, before igniting a massive 10-run fire in the fifth. The team finished with 15 hits and held Minnesota to four.
Hannah Coor and Jesse Farrell co-led the Huskers, each hitting a grand slam to propel the team's lead, marking the first time Nebraska had two grand slams in a game since 2022. Coor and Farrell finished with four RBIs and combined for three hits. Kacie Hoffmann batted 2-for-4 and earned three RBIs, bringing in a run in three straight innings. Ava Kuszak and Hannah Camenzind both chipped in two RBIs with Kuszak going 3-for-4 and Camenzind batting 2-for-4.
Alexis Jensen (18-2) won in the circle in her start, tossing 4.0 innings, firing four strikeouts and allowing three hits and one run. Kylee Magee stepped in the circle for the fifth and threw two strikeouts against one hit and one run.
Nebraska wraps up the series with Minnesota on Sunday. The first pitch is scheduled for noon CT on B1G+.
