The Carolina Panthers have signed quarterback Will Grier ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Grier, a former third-round pick by the Panthers in 2019, returns after stints with multiple NFL teams.
The Carolina Panthers took care of a little business before the start of the 2026 NFL Draft.
As noted by Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer on Thursday, the Panthers have officially signed quarterback Will Grier. Carolina and the 31-year-old passer agreed to terms on a return this past Monday.
Grier, a Davidson, N.C. native and Davidson Day School product, was selected by the Panthers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He went on to start in two games during his rookie campaign, where he connected on 28 of his 52 throws for 228 yards and four interceptions in a pair of losses.
He has yet to appear in another NFL regular-season outing since—but has picked up stints with the Dallas Cowboys (2021 to 2022 and 2024 to 2025), Cincinnati Bengals (2023), New England Patriots (2023), Los Angeles Chargers (2023) and Philadelphia Eagles (2024).
With Grier, the Panthers now carry three quarterback on their current roster. He joins starter Bryce Young and fellow free-agent signee Kenny Pickett.
Will Grier has played for the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles.
