The New England Patriots were the surprise packet of the 2025 season in Mike Vrabel's first year as head coach, making it all the way to the Super Bowl.
But the Seattle Seahawks played the role of spoiler, dominating New England and making life extremely tough for Drake Maye and the offense.
Getting to the Super Bowl is tough, but getting thoroughly outplayed on the biggest stage also isn't great, and for some players, it is something they can never get over.

“You gotta get back to work. I think it’s humbling. I’m looking forward to try to prove to myself that I can get back and have another year for a chance at [the Super Bowl win].”

Also, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have never even been to a Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers has been to just one in his career, so it is extremely tough to make it to one, and Maye did it.
But we don't know if he'll ever make it back. Patriots fans hope so, but it is far from a certainty.
