New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel stepped away from the team on Saturday for the final day of the 2026 NFL Draft as he underwent counseling.
ESPN's Peter Schrager reported Saturday that according to "Patriots sources," the team was in "constant contact throughout the day."
Patriots Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf dismissed that report at the conclusion of the event.
"So last night, you know, we kind of talked through things and made the decision that, you know, the time away really needs to be time away," Wolf said, according to MassLive's Mark Daniels. "So we were not in contact with Mike today other than some just 'hope everything’s going okay' kind of text early this morning."
It's been almost three weeks since Vrabel and former NFL insider Dianna Russini became embroiled in scandal when the New York Post shared photos of the duo at a luxury hotel in Sedona, Ariz.
