The New England Patriots moved on from Joshua Dobbs this offseason, but Mike Vrabel has noted that the team wants to add another quarterback.

"We need a third arm," Vrabel told reporters earlier this offseason. "We need to try to find a young guy that we can develop and potentially add to the roster, whether that's the active roster or the practice squad."

It sounds like Vrabel wants to add a quarterback through the draft rather than trade or free agency. He wants a young player he and the coaches can develop behind Drake Maye and Tommy DeVito. Well, on Friday, the Patriots hosted a potential candidate, Jalon Daniels of the University of Kansas, for a Top 30 visit, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Daniels is a dual-threat quarterback who played six seasons with the Jayhawks. He was the first four-time captain in school history. He finished his college career ranking second in school history in passing yards, passing touchdowns, pass attempts and completions. He is tied for the school lead in rushing touchdowns by a quarterback.

Last season, he threw for 2,531 yards and 22 touchdowns. Both were career highs. He also ran for 404 yards and four touchdowns. He finished his career with 9,282 passing yards and 67 passing touchdowns. He added 23 rushing touchdowns and 1,445 rushing yards.

He is a great player for the Patriots to try to develop. Turnovers have been a problem for him, and he is undersized. He threw 31 interceptions and checked in at 6-foot-1 at the NFL Combine. He had the fifth-best athleticism score among quarterbacks at the NFL Combine.

Daniels could be a Day 3 pick and fill Vrabel's desire for a third arm. So far, he is the only quarterback the Patriots have had on a Top 30 visit.
