The New England Patriots are receiving trade inquiries regarding their No. 31 pick ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. They may either make a selection or trade down for additional assets.
The start of the 2026 NFL Draft is merely hours away, and the New England Patriots are already getting calls from teams about potentially trading down from the No. 31 overall pick.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the news on Thursday.
The Patriots have a multitude of different positions to address in the draft. They could stay put and make a pick, depending on who is on the board at No. 31, or they could trade back and acquire more assets for future draft selections.
It all comes down to how much the other team is willing to give up and whether the Patriots feel they could find help later on the board, most likely at offensive tackle, edge defender or interior defensive lineman.
"Teams like the Patriots and [Seattle] Seahawks have gotten calls already about potentially moving down. Both teams are open to moving down," said Pelissero.
The Patriots are in a position to stockpile even more draft picks on top of the 11 they already have for future trades for players or to potentially move up on the board at some point. Everything should be on the table for New England in this draft.
