The New England Patriots will open the new year on the road against the Super Bowl 60 champions, Seattle Seahawks, on Sept. 9.
This year, the NFL season will begin Wednesday instead of Thursday for the first time since 2012.

The Patriots and the Seahawks met in Super Bowl 60 in February. Seattle emerged with a dominant 29-13 win over New England.
It’s already been confirmed that the Patriots will travel abroad again to Germany in Week 10 to take on the Detroit Lions FC Bayern Munich Stadium.
The game will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET on Nov. 15.
The full NFL schedule will be released on Thursday.
