The Pittsburgh Penguins know they will have their hands full against the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Pittsburgh will host Philadelphia in Game 1 on Saturday night in a battle of Pennsylvania. It’s a highly anticipated series, and ahead of Game 1, Penguins defenseman Kris Letang knows Philadelphia is a good offensive team that can score plenty of goals in a hurry.
“I think they’re a really good offensive team,” Letang said, via the team website. “A lot of skill, they can hurt you in so many ways. I mean, that’s what comes up most. They have that new addition, (Porter) Martone. He’s already making a big impact in their lineup.”
Karlsson, meanwhile, echoed Letang's comments, as he knows the Flyers will be a tough out. He also knows it will be a heated series as both fan bases are as passionate as they come.
“I think that both fan bases in our series are dedicated to one another," Karlsson added. "It’s going to be a fun time. I’ve never played against Philly in the playoffs before. I’ve been around long enough to know kind of what to expect in that building.
Kris Letang praised the Flyers, highlighting their capability to score plenty of goals in a short time.
Game 1 of the Penguins vs. Flyers playoff series is scheduled for Saturday night.
The series is highly anticipated due to the rivalry between the two Pennsylvania teams and the Flyers' strong offensive performance.
