'We started to believe a long time ago!' - Braga confident of Hearts title chances
Claudio Braga believes Hearts are strong title contenders this season.
Penn State is among the final four schools for four-star offensive tackle Carter Jones, who has already visited Clemson the most. His decision could significantly impact the Nittany Lions' recruiting class for 2027.
Penn State has done remarkably well recruiting wise in the Class of 2027. One position that has especially taken the spotlight during the recruiting process has been along the offensive line. The Nittany Lions have already signed three offensive linemen to their class, with three star prospect Ryan Robbins being the latest addition. Now, they could also end up having a fourth in due time as four star tackle Carter Jones has narrowed down his school choices to four, with Penn State included.
Should Jones sign with the Nittany Lions, this may prove to be one of the most important recruiting classes for the Matt Campbell era in Happy Valley. Campbell has always preached physicality and getting the most out of his players, so a player of Jones' caliber completely fits the bill. He is the No.2 lineman in the state of Virginia and the No. 10 overall prospect in the state as well. His strength and size have been two of the traits that have stood out to all four schools he is interested in.
Of those four schools however, he has visited Clemson the most, with eight visits to South Carolina compared to five in Happy Valley. The other two schools in Georgia and Tennessee held official visits for Jones this week, with Georgia's coming on April 17 and Tennessee's on April 24. Penn State was actually his earliest official visit on April 11th, but many believe that Clemson are in the driver's seat with an official visit scheduled on May 29.
Somehow, the Nittany Lions are not out of it due to O-line coach's Ryan Clanton's aggressive recruiting tactics. However, the odds are getting longer and time is running out for more scheduled visits with Jones in the future. Still, if the Nittany Lions pull it off, it will be a major win for the program's future.
Carter Jones is considering Penn State, Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee for his commitment.
Carter Jones has made eight visits to Clemson, more than any other school.
Carter Jones's commitment could be a major win for Penn State's recruiting class, enhancing their offensive line under coach Matt Campbell.
