Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has backed Jeremy Doku to become one of the best wingers in the world.

The Belgian has had a fantastic season, scoring eight goals and registering 14 assists in all competitions.

He scored in City’s 3-0 win over Brentford, and asked if Doku can be one of the best wingers in the world, Guardiola said: “It depends on if you mentally say ‘I want to become one of the best wingers in the world.’ Otherwise, you’re in a comfort zone and you say ‘No, it’s fine, it’s fine.’ Jeremy has always had dribbles and works hard and whatever, he has always tried. But you have to say ‘No, I want to become one of the best of the best.'”

Then asked if he can get to the level of Vinicius Junior and Lamine Yamal, the Spaniard said: “Yeah, for sure. And he always accepts being pushed, he always accepts that. And that is so nice, you know. Yeah, we are really pleased. But not only now, since I arrived. Now he is winning games, scoring goals. But he has always been really, really good. Solid.”
