City boss Pep Guardiola says Rodri is set to be sidelined for Wednesday nightâs key Premier League trip to Burnley.
The holding midfielder came off towards the end of last Sundayâs crucial 2-1 Premier League win at home to leaders Arsenal.
In the immediate aftermath of the game, Guardiola revealed that Rodri had suffered an issue with his groin.
And addressing the media at Tuesdayâs pre-match press conference, the City boss provided the latest update on the 2024 Ballon dâOr winner and said he was unlikely to be available for the trip to East Lancashire.
âI think for tomorrow he will not be ready. Weâll see for next games the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton or 12 days later for the Premier League game at Everton,â Pep revealed.
The boss also provided the latest news on central defender Ruben Dias who has been absent since last monthâs UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg tie at home to Real Madrid.

âHe is not yet ready,â Pep added.
The victory against Arsenal moved City to within three points of the Gunners.
And should we secure what would be a third consecutive league win and beat Burnley by more than two goals at Turf Moor, it would lift us into top spot with just five games left in the league campaign.
For Guardiola however they key will all be about performance and consistency rather than mathematical permutations.
âWe spoke immediately in the dressing room after the game on Sunday to focus,â Pep added.
âArsenal is top of the league, if it finishes right now they will be champions.
âWe have to see how they [the players] recover not just the demanding game that we had emotionally and physically.
âSix games left, we know exactly what might happen with or without results.
âWe go to Burnley and have to perform to the level that we have to do. We go to win the game because itâs what we need.â
