Pro Football Focus identifies ideal landing spots for two Detroit Lions free agents: DJ Reader to the Las Vegas Raiders and Taylor Decker to the Chicago Bears.
As the lengthy NFL offseason continues, Pro Football Focus listed the ideal landing spots for the league's 10 best remaining free agents, with former Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker and interior defensive lineman DJ Reader predicted to make head-scratching moves.
According to Bradley Locker, Reader's ideal landing spot is with the Las Vegas Raiders. Reader is ranked as PFF's No. 21 free agent.
Despite suggestions that the Raiders would capitalize on a Day 2 rich with defensive tackle talent, the team instead opted to grab Arizona defensive back Treydan Stukes. In turn, that leaves Las Vegas in major need of an interior defender.
Reader hasnāt matched his string of incredible production from 2021-23, but heās still a quality option on the inside. Last year, he recorded a 72.6 PFF pass-rush grade and a 10.5% pass-rush win rate, the latter of which slotted 27th among qualified players at the position.
The 31-year-old Reader might prefer to sign with a team thatās closer to contention. Nevertheless, he would continue to build next to Maxx Crosby on the teamās new-look defense. - Pro Football Focus
As for Decker, Locker writes that the veteran offensive tackle's best fit is across Lake Michigan with the , where he would reunite with former offensive coordinator and current second-year head coach Ben Johnson.
DJ Reader is predicted to join the Las Vegas Raiders, while Taylor Decker is suggested to sign with the Chicago Bears.
The Raiders need an interior defender after opting for a defensive back in the draft, making Reader a fitting choice.

Such a move would allow Decker to serve as a temporary stopgap for the Bears' developing offensive line depth chart.
In addition to interior defender, the Bears eschewed tackle help despite uncertainty surrounding left tackle Ozzy Trapilo. Decker would be a seamless signing as a one-year option.
Even though Deckerās 67.9 overall PFF grade was his lowest since 2017, he allowed only three hits and two sacks along 525 opportunities. Further, Deckerās pass-blocking efficiency score has never ended below 96.0, indicating his reliability in pass protection.
Itās a bit surprising that Decker hasnāt already reunited with former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson considering that Trapilo could miss most or all of 2026 due to his ruptured patella tendon suffered in the playoffs. Even though the Bears do have possible starters in Braxton Jones, Theo Benedet and Jedrick Wills Jr., the decorated veteran Decker would be a meaningful upgrade with few strings attached. - Pro Football Focus
Decker is ranked as PFF's No. 42 free agent.
While both are still unsigned, the two will certainly be names to watch over the offseason to see where each elects to sign heading into the 2026 NFL season.
