Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris has a message for frustrated fans in Philly following the Sixers' second-round playoff exit and the resulting departure of president of basketball operations Daryl Morey.
In a statement shared by the team, Harris expressed respect for Morey and commiserated with fans who are disappointed with Philadelphia's lack of postseason success during his tenure as owner.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Daryl personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for his contributions over the last six seasons. After speaking with Daryl, we determined that it was time for a fresh start. Bob Myers will lead the process of identifying a new leader and I believe his experience in constructing four NBA championship teams will be a valuable resource to our organization," Harris said.
“To our fans, your frustration and disappointment are understandable and warranted. We have fallen well short of our own expectations and failed to deliver in the way this city deserves. That bothers me deeply and I have confidence in Bob to establish a path forward for our franchise.”
As Harris noted, the search for Morey's replacement will be led by Bob Myers, who currently serves as the president of sports for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. Myers previously served as the general manager of the from 2012 to 2023.

Myers plans to hit the ground running when it comes to the search.
