On Monday, MLB announced its Players of the Week for each of the leagues, and the Phillies’ own Crisopher Sanchez took home the honors for the National League.
This award comes after Sanchez had two simple phenomenal outings, one coming against the Athletics and the other against the Colorado Rockies.
Sanchez tossed 8.0 scoreless innings against the Athletics and the 7.0 shutout innings against the Rockies in a series-clinching victory.
In these two stats alone, Sanchez threw 15.0 innings, allowed zero earned runs, walked one batter, and struck out a staggering 17 hitters. Those numbers come out to a 0.67 WHIP and a .170 opponent batting average.

“Zeros. Besides that, kind of typical [Sanchez]. He’s been on a roll,” said skipper Don Mattingly after Sunday’s start.
“I know it's been a while since he's given up a run. His mix is just tough… He's a handful. I've definitely seen that from the other side. This guy's, he's really good.”
