“I hadn't been doing my job much this year. I hadn't been giving those guys, the hitters, I hadn't been putting them in the best chance to score some runs,”Nola said postgame. “But today, I tried to go out and put up as many zeros as possible, and limit the base runners and damage giving them a chance. Obviously, it's a close score in the game, but I mean, the starters overall this series have been pitching pretty well.”
Overall, Nola is 2-3 with a 5.06 ERA in 37.1 innings. Before Monday’s start Nola’s ERA was at 6.03.
Getting Nola back to the All-Star form he was in 2018 will help the Phillies continue to get back on track. Nola has proven he has ace-level stuff, as he's finished in the top 10 of Cy Young Award voting three times (2018, 2020, and 2022), while finishing 11th in 2024.
