Third baseman Alec Bohm has not gotten off to a great start to the season. In 15 games, the former All-Star (2024) is hitting .155 with an OPS of .455 and one home run, which he hit on Opening Day.
With everything going wrong for the 29-year-old on the field, everything off the field continues to go wrong as well.
According to The Athletic’s Matt Gelb and Charlotte Varnes, Bohm is seeking a preliminary injunction in his ongoing legal battle with his parents. Bohm is seeking an injunction to return $500,000+ to a brokerage account.

Bohm sued his parents in March 2026 after reviewing his personal accounts, and his parents refused him access. According to the Associated Press: “They [his parents] sought to "freeze" him out of four accounts -- established as limited liability companies -- and he now believes they "converted a sizeable amount" of his money from those accounts," to their own use."
To add to his legal woes, Bohm is changing sports agencies. According to Gelb and Varnes, he fired agent Scott Boras of the Boras Corporation on Monday and re-hired Nick Chanock of The Team.
A free agent after this season, Bohm’s struggles on the field and legal problems are doing him no good in getting a long-term contract. Hopefully for Bohm, changing agents will help him get back on track on the field and settle down his legal issues off the field.
