The Phillies as a team have not been able to contribute collectively, resulting in a 10-19 start to the season and the firing of manager Rob Thompson on Tuesday.
Jesus Luzardo has not been able to replicate his 2025 performance, getting off to a tough start in 2026. In 34.1 innings pitched so far, the southpaw has managed a 5.50 ERA, striking out 41 hitters against allowing nine walks. However, his latest start should inspire hope, as he hurled seven scoreless frames in the shutout win against the Giants.
Like Luzardo, J.T. Realmuto has also failed to do well in 2026 so far. In 54 plate appearances so far, the catcher has batted .259 with only one home run. He has added only four RBIs and has struggled to hit the ball deep despite favorable counts.
