The Philadelphia Phillies are in some trouble this season. They're 8-10, and while there's still plenty of time to turn things around, there are two major concerns the Phillies are dealing with.
Those two concerns revolve around the production of Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott in the offense. Defensively, they've been fine, but the Phillies need much more from them on offense. And instead of relying on them, they could trade for a new starter.
Fansided.com's Christopher Kline named the Phillies as a potential landing spot for a great upgrade option in Washington Nationals' 1.190 OPS infielder CJ Abrams.
"Washington probably doesn't want to trade Abrams in the division, especially to a team with Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Bryce Harper - all former Nationals," Kline writes. "Value is value, though, and the Phillies are in a position where the front office needs to be aggressive."
CJ Abrams has a 1.190 OPS, indicating he is a highly productive hitter, which could significantly boost the Phillies' offense.
The Phillies may consider trading either Alec Bohm or Bryson Stott to facilitate the acquisition of CJ Abrams.
The Philadelphia Phillies currently have a record of 8-10 this season, indicating they are struggling early on.

The Phillies swinging a big deal for Abrams would be a very bold move, but he would be an instant upgrade in their infield over Bohm or Stott.
This season, he's hitting .371 with an NL-leading 1.190 OPS and 238 OPS+. He's been one of the best hitters in the sport so far this season, and adding him to the Phillies lineup would be exactly what this team needs.
Both Stott and Bohm have OPS's below .500, with Stott at .493 and Bohm at a brutal .427. It's a clear need to upgrade at either spot, and Abrams, the Nationals' shortstop who could move to second base, would be a great option.
He's under club control for the next three seasons and will be fairly expensive to acquire, especially with the intra-division tax the Nationals would likely impose on the Phillies.
But if the Phillies could get such a huge upgrade in their infield with Abrams, and at the top of the lineup, the Phillies' offense might finally turn the corner with the lefty slugger who has six homers already this season.
The Phillies are in desperate need of more offensive firepower, and Abrams would be a great option to go after if the Nationals are willing to trade him to Philadelphia.
