The Philadelphia Phillies have had a rough 2026 season so far, with a record of 8-13 and fourth place in the NL East. They tried to run back basically the same roster from last season, and so far, it hasnât worked at all.
With that in mind, they could be major sellers at the deadline, to try and rearm this offseason for 2027. FanSidedâs Christopher Kline predicts one of the top names the Phillies could shop is the outfielder they acquired this offseason, All-Star and World Series champ Adolis Garcia.
âAdolis GarcĂa, who inked a one-year contract in free agency, probably comes up in trade talks as well. Phillies fans have mostly celebrated GarcĂa, who has improved his plate approach and provided a substantial defensive upgrade over Nick Castellanos in right field. That said, the Phillies could dump GarcĂa to a contender in need of outfield depth and test out the farm system â perhaps a Gabriel Rincones call-up? â or just give newcomer Felix Reyes a more permanent, full-time role over the second half of the campaign,â Kline wrote.

So far this season, Garcia has slashed .205/.306/.342/.648 with four doubles, two home runs, and five RBI in 21 games. He still has a Gold Glove in left field, which definitely raises his price in a potential trade.
Hopefully, the Phillies are able to turn it around in time to make themselves contenders by the deadline. If they canât, Garcia will be just one of many players that will be getting shopped in August.
