The Philadelphia Phillies are in the midst of a slump, and their inability to consistently find wins is becoming increasingly frustrating. However, the struggles are even more concerning for Alec Bohm, who has been unable to find his rhythm at the plate.
“Bohm seems to always fall into a historic slump, but his current slide has fans turning against him quicker than usual. Entering Friday, he is 0-for-his-last-23 with seven strikeouts. Six of his 10 RBI were recorded in two games. This streakiness is putting him in an even deeper hole than when he said on the field that he hates Philadelphia. Is it time to really move on from Bohm? The team's top prospect, Aidan Miller, getting hurt ahead of the season bought Bohm some time, for now,” TBOH’s PJ Potter wrote.
The Phillies once viewed Bohm as a cornerstone, especially during his All-Star campaign in 2024. Now, however, he has emerged as a potential trade candidate, with teams like the Boston Red Sox being mentioned as possible fits.
“Boston lost Alex Bregman in free agency over the winter and never really found a true replacement for him. Addressing that type of need during the season is going to be a challenge, and they aren’t getting a lot of help from the players at the position. When looking at Bohm as a potential fit, he is a former All-Star not too long ago, and has been a doubles machine in the past, which would fit in well at Fenway Park. With him seemingly falling out of favor in Philadelphia and being a free agent at the end of the year, moving him now and looking for another option makes sense for the Phillies,”
The Phillies are considering trading Alec Bohm due to his lackluster performance, including an 0-for-23 slump, which has raised concerns about his future with the team.

The Phillies could feel comfortable moving Bohm, especially with top prospect Aidan Miller expected to return from injury before the trade deadline. Bohm simply has not produced at the level the team needs.
Additionally, Bohm is in the final year of his contract, earning $10.2 million. The Phillies once believed they had something special in him, but now he appears to be a potential trade piece as the season unfolds.
