Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Chris Devenski's week went from bad to worse on Thursday.
"ROSTER MOVES: The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed RHP Chris Devenski (undisclosed illness) on the 15-day injured list. RHP Cam Sanders, who was placed on the taxi squad on Wednesday, was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis," the Pirates' official account posted on Bluesky.
Devenski andĀ manager Don Kelly were both suspended for an incident that occurred during Pittsburgh's 17-7 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.
The 35-year-old right-hander wasĀ originally suspended three games after MLB determined that he intentionally threw at Reds rookie , though the suspension was later reduced to two contests.
Chris Devenski was placed on the injured list due to an undisclosed illness.

Devenski -- who had been eligible to return for Thursday's game vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks -- was also fined an undisclosed amount and Kelly was suspended for one game.
The one-time All-Star hurler signed with the Pirates in January and was called up to Pittsburgh on April 29.
Devenski has allowed two runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts across 2 1/3 innings pitched covering three relief appearances with the Pirates this season.
